Research problem

The questions raised regarding literature concern its possible definition, its status, its modalities, its object of study and its analytical tools. The concerns are therefore numerous and relevant, relating to the texture of the novel, its narrative extensions, and its writing and stylistic devices. Literature certainly possesses an aesthetic dimension, yet it also contains a specific dynamic, thanks to the text/reader dyad. It is through the act of reading that the text comes to life, is written and rewritten.

How, then, is a literary text read and experienced? How does pedagogy draw on literature to develop competencies, particularly reading competence? The journey through texts will lead us towards history, myth and legend — all of which are parameters to be explored as objectives within this research project
