Summary

Mega or middle event are considered an important means in order to advance the development and change of cities, and during the phases they go through from their inception to their end, they constitute a wide field for study and research. It leaves a legacy of multiple classifications, and it has several positive or negative effects, as well as material and non-material effects, but in the end it constitutes an important legacy for the country or the city. In this project, we are trying to study the legacy left by the event that Algeria witnessed in two of the cities of Algeria (Tlemcen, the capital of Islamic culture, and Oran, for hosting the Mediterranean Games).

Through this research, we want to highlight in the first place what is the tangible or intangible heritage that Tlemcen and Oran obtained from the events it hosted? Second, look at the representations and perceptions of the population regarding these events. Does it have a positive or negative connotation for them? Basically, if there is integration or consultation with the local population in the actions that were implemented in their city in the preparatory phase as the first dynamic actor regarding the projects and changes that their city will undergo to host the event ?
