The new trends in algerian demography

Project type : Institutional Projects (PE)
Theme : Cities and Urban Practices
Summary

In a context where Algeria is experiencing socio-demographic changes, especially over the past two decades. The issue of our research project falls within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG3). This involves, on the one hand, analyzing new socio-demographic trends in terms of reproductive behavior (birth rate, fertility and family planning), marriage behavior (marriage and divorce) and, on the other hand, determining the levels mortality, in particular infant , neonatal and maternal mortality. To this end, two approaches can be considered. The first is quantitative, based on the database of the 2019 Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS6) and the last general population and housing census (RGPH2008) and the second is qualitative as a complement to better explain, interpret and determine the determinants of these new trends. The objective of this research project is to develop two roadmaps, one for the Ministry of Health and Population and Hospital Reform, and the other for the Ministry of National Solidarity of the Family and the Status of Women, as two active socio-economic partners in achieving sustainable development in the country
